Editor's note:  For the past eight years I have posted a weekly "Portfolio Ponderings" on this page.  This has coincided with the Coffeehouse column in the King County Journal, a local daily published for the eastside communities of Puget Sound. 

Unfortunately, this paper ceased publication on January 1, 2007, and as such, I am going to take a break from my weekly ponderings; for now offering up a reflection on a monthly basis or as time allows, so stay tuned!
